This hardware allows me to run roughly 90% of MAME games at fullspeed in Windows 2000 with full sound emulation. I use the onboard sound and ethernet. The Asus GeForce2 card has great SVideo Output on it. 30 gigs of harddrive space is plenty for my cabinet.
Yeah yeah, I hate running Windows 2000 in my cabinet. But I get better MAME performance in Windows than in pure DOS.
I run the official Windows build of MAME. Daphne is for the Laserdisc emulation. ZSNes is the best Super Nintendo emulator out there. There are a couple good Sega Genesis emu's out there but Gens seems to be the one for me. I randomly came across Magic Engine several years ago. It's by far the best TG-16/PC Engine emulator ever made. Two words: "Bomberman 94"... And finally Virtua NES, one of a small handfull of excellent Nintendo Entertainment System emulators.
